Situation: George and Lennie are talking in the woods and George explains that Lennie would die without George taking care of him. Analysis: Lennie is not capable of living on his own or supporting himself without the help of George Theme: This scene shows that George carries the responsibility of caring for Lennie because Lennie is incapable.
Situation: Lennie is upset that he caused the death of the pup and is thinking about George's reaction Analysis: Lennie is sadly taking responsibility admitting that he accidentally caused the death of the pup. Theme: this scene shows Lennie sadly taking responsibility for killing the pup.
Situation: George is making Lennie happy before he shoots him. Analysis: This is responsible because he is making sure Lennie has a happy mindset before his death. Theme: in this scene George is preparing to shoot and kill Lennie.
