Once there was a mighty and rich King named Hrothgar who ruled the Danes in Southern Denmark. He one day decided to build a magnificent mead-hall, called, Heorot as a symbol of power and prosperity, where he and his loyal warriors could feast, drink, and have a good time. But sadly the fun did not last long until a rumor was spread about a monster named Grendel that was eating and killing people.
I am Hrothgar! King and ruler of the Danes in South Denmark.
And so that rumor ended up being true and it spreaded all over the world. This tragedy lasted for up to 12 years until the brave Beowulf, warrior from Geats in South Sweden, came and was willing to fight against Grendel. That night Beowulf waited, weapon-less, for Grendel to come and be able to fight him. The fight ended up Grendel eating one of the warriors and Beowulf ripping his arm off and winning the battle.
DIE YOU MONSTER!!
Shortly after, when Grendel's mother found out that they killed her son she went in full rage and went back to the mead-hall to take her revenge. When she arrived to the mead-hall she went straight to eating the first soldier she sees, Aeschere, and then runs off to her home at the bottom of the lake. But Beowulf goes after her and fights with her at her cave. The outcome of the fight turn out to be that Beowulf killed Grendel's mother but at first his sword, Hrunting, failed him, so he had to use one of her swords to be able to end her.
I MUST KILL YOU SHE-WOLF!!
After the battle with Grendel's Mother, Beowulf received many treasures from Hrothgar and Hygelac, and queen Hygd. In return Beowulf gave Hygelac Grendel's Head that he found in his mother's cave. when Hygelac is killed by the Swedes, Beowulf takes the throne and rules in great fame and prosperity.

Fifty years go by and it is said that a thief found a passageway into an oldbarrow. Where inside there is a dragon that guards treasure left there long ago by the last survivor on an extict people. The thief steals a cup and as revenge the dragon destroys the mead-hall. But Beowulf knowing that his death was nearing he decided to battle this dragon along with Wiglaf, ten warriors, and the thief. But at the end everyone ended up bailing and the only ones that lasted was Wiglaf and Beowulf. Beowulf struggled very much in this fight and at the point of almost dying Wiglaf came and killed the dragon in honor of Beowulf.
After Beowulf's death he told Wiglaf to rule after him, and to build him a funeral barrow that overlooked the sea. A messenger was then sent to tell the Geats that Beowulf is dead. Which also warns them of hard times now because of Beowulf not being there with them. The Geats cremate Beowulf and construct a barrow overlooking the sea and burying him along with the dragons treasures with him.
