France is bankrupt because of helping America during their revolution and France doesn't pay off their debt with taxes and they spend most of their money on their castle and not on anything else. Their food prices go up and their pay gets lower. And the nobility pays almost nothing even though they have the most money.
Storming of Bastille
Peasants want to take action against the French government because they have to pay such high taxes but they are not given enough money to pay the taxes and still provide for themselves.
We are the National Assembly!!!
The peasants were sick of paying such high taxes, as a result, they chose to revolt and split from the 1st and Second estates (the nobles) and create a new group called the National Assembly of France. They were a group who believed in ¨equal rights for all people.¨
National Assembly takes over
The Storming of the Bastille occurred in Paris, France, on the afternoon of 14 July 1789. It was so the Third Estate could show that they are taking control of the revolution. The National Assembly appealed to the king to ask for their rights back but the king instead sided with the nobles. Enraged the citizens protested and stormed the prison of Bastille and from then on July 14th would be known all around France as Bastille day.
In one revolutionary stand of defiance The National Assembly is born, it will be a communion of voices from around the country a parliamentary body and acting the peoples will. The National assembly then rejoiced they had finally proved themselves in the eyes of the king and shown what they were capable of, and empowered the peasants all around France and had ignited the spark that spread the wildfire of revolution.
The National Assembly took over with the help of the large majority of peasants fed up with their conditions. They finally were free of the tyranny that for so many years had controlled and taken them for granted.
We are the National Assembly and we are finally free
We are the National Assembly and we are in charge.
