  • The Remains of a Fallen Star
  • By Natalie Cooper
  • Great question! This animated view shows us the Meteorite Hypothesis, and how molecules from a meteorite crash may have brought life to Earth!
  • And now, we come to the last stop of our space tour.
  • What's so special about this place?
  • In 1969, a meteorite crashed in Murchison, Australia. The meteorite contained over 90 Amino Acids!
  • Of those 90, Amino Acids, only 19 have been found naturally on Earth, and others have been created artificially in a lab. Yes Jaimie?
  • Ms. Trish, what does this have to do with us?
  • The Meteorite Hypothesis is just that - a hypothesis!
  • Well, that leads us to our next point, how was life created?
  • Exactly Tom!
  • That's true, we can't be sure what happened because none of us were there!
  • Yes exactly! That is why this meteorite crash in 1969 was so important for scientists! These scientists believe that these crashes may have paved the way for life itself!
  • That brings us to questions like, was life created by chemical reactions? or did these meteorites bring the molecules of life?
  • That's a hard question to ask when no one was there to experience it!
