Storyboard Text

  • October 12th 1492
  • I am Christopher Columbus
  • Encounters with the natives
  • Oppression begins
  • Columbus and his men, who hail from Spain, arrive in what they think is undiscovered land.  Their purpose for this expedition was to acquire Gold, and Glory.
  • Oppression continues
  • The natives   welcomed Columbus and his men , and shared supplies, and gold.
  • After Columbus
  • At this point Columbus and his men make it clear that they are only there for three reasons.  Gold, Glory, and Spreading the word of God.   They terrorized the natives through violence and abuse to get what they want.
  • Conclusion
  • Besides the extreme violence and oppression Columbus also brought Small pox and many other diseases that wiped out most of the natives.
  • After Columbus,  it was almost   100 years before  any other explorers arrived.  In this time in between  the Native  Americans flourished again, and it was also exposed later that Columbus was not the first person to discover America.
  • Christopher Columbus, to this day is falsely told about being the discoverer of America.    Instead he should be  told about, or be known as being   Americas first terrorist/oppressor.  The affects of  his evil still impact all Native Americans today.
