Description- The hero has the potential for great deeds and the magnitude of these actions are beyond what the commoner does Explanation: Grendel has the courage to fight Grendel with no weapons. He uses his own strength to win the battle with Grendel and also tears off Grendel's arm.
Description: Before doing his business in an epic, the hero has usually established himself in combat during a war Explanation:Beowulf is a great warrior, characterized predominantly by his feats of strength and courage, including his fabled swimming match against Breca. Beowulf also talks about how he destroyed a family of giants, and vanquished water-monsters.
When Grendel arrives and tries to kill Beowulf, Beowulf fights Grendel and eventually tears Grendel's arm off. Eventually, Grendel flees and Beowulf wins the battle.
After the battle with Grendel, Grendel's mother takes revenge over what has happened to her son. She and Beowulf eventually fight, but in the end, she also loses the battle and dies. This happened since Beowulf kills her with a enchanted sword.
Once Grendel's mother is killed, Beowulf looks for Grendel's body. He eventually finds him and cuts his head off.
