Octavia E butler has created 20 novels including Wild Seed, Mind of my Mind, Clay's Ark, Survivor, Imago, Bloodchild, Lilith's Brood, Kindred, and the list goes on and on. Butler has also won the Nebula Award for Bloodchild.
Butler's gender and race made it way more difficult for her to get far in her career. The way she looked made publishers more critical of her work than with white male authors. Instead of this getting Bulter down she embraced it by writing about African American concerns and themes. Writing about things she cared about put her at the top of her game and won her the Nebula award. Octavia E Butler should always be known for her success and determination.
