  • Tough Questions: While Johnny and Ponyboy go in the burning church to save children, Ponyboy realizes, even though he should be scared, hes not. He then asks himself, "Why aren't I scared?" This question makes me wonder if Ponyboy has learned to overcome any obstacles that come in his life.
  • Aha Moment: When Sodapop and Darry came to visit Ponyboy, and he saw Darry crying, Ponyboy finally realized why Darry treated him the way he did. He now understood, Darry only acted like that towards him, because he cared about Ponyboy, and he wanted to make sure nothing happened to him. He then understood Darry’s “silent fear”; losing another person he loved. This might change things, because now Ponyboy and Darry might become closer as brothers, and Darry may also treat Ponyboy differently.
  • Memory Moment: Ponyboy remebered there parents funeral after Darry started crying. He remembered how at the funeral, Darry didn't shed a single tear while Ponyboy and Sodapop sobbed. This memory might be important because it shows that Darry stays strong for his brothers during the times they need him most, even if something horrible had happened,
