Scout fights Cecil Jacobs because he called Atticus, her father, a n----- lover.
"You can just take that back boy!"
Atticus explains to Scout about the case he took with Tom Robinson and says how she is going to receive hate for her father defending him since he is an African American. He also tells her to stop fighting kids who insult him.
"Try fighting with your head for a change... it's a good one,even if it does resist learning"
"You ain't fair"
Atticus, Jem, and Scout go to dinner at Aunt Alexandra's house. Francis, Scout's cousin, starts insulting and saying bad things about Atticus which causes Scout to get angry with Francis. Francis also insults her fiance, Dill.
Scout punches Francis and gets into a fight with him. Francis says that Scout called him a "w****-lady" when he was the one being provocative. Uncle Jack then hits Scout for saying a bad word after he told her to stop.
Uncle Jack apologizes for hitting Scout after she told her side of the story and taught Uncle Jack a lesson about children. Scout tells Uncle Jack to not tell Atticus about Francis.
Uncle Jack speaks to Atticus about the lesson Scout taught him. Atticus speaks about the case with Tom Robinson and how he doesn't want his kids to become racist like the rest of Maycomb and believe the lies people tell them. They then figure out that Scout was listening to their conversation.
