  • My honored lord, you know right well you did.

  • I, his sole son, do this same villain send To heaven. Why,this is (hire) and (salary,) not revenge.
  • Hamlet talks with Ophelia. Hamlet denies ever loving Ophelia , and told her to go to a nunnery. The King and Polonius easedrop on this conversation.
  • I must be cruel only to be kind.
  • The players reenact the way the late King died. The King stops the play, proving to Hamlet and Horatio that he had killed his brother.
  • The King feels guilty that he has killed his brother. The King attempts to pray, and Hamlet finds him. Hamlet decides to kill the King when he is doing something bad, so the King will go to hell, not heaven.
  • Hamlet speaks to the Queen. Polonius comes out of hiding, and Hamlet stabs him, thinking it was the King. Hamlet drags Polonius, warning the Queen to not sleep with the King.
