Storyboard Text

  • The north made a lot of money from jobs in the city, as well as people moving to big cities during urbanization.
  • Immigrants could still get jobs, but wouldn't necessarily get equal rights.
  • African Americans, men or women, wouldn't become slaves, but they still wouldn't get equal rights.
  • The economy in the South came almost entirely from free labor, and without slaves, its economy would certainly crumble
  • Slaves were forced to work for free, and most of the time wouldn't be freed, unless their master deemed them not useable.
  • African Americans were widely mistreated, and would get hanged or whipped if they failed their task.
