Louis Riel was born in Red River colony, Rupert's Land, BNA. He had 2 sisters, Sara and Marguerite, one brother, Joseph. His mother was called Julie and his father was called Louis.
Electing provisional government
He started going to a school named Petit Seminaire Higher Secondary School. When he was 14 years old he started going to Collage. His collage's name was The Collège de Montréal.
The Execution of Thomas Scott
After the government bought Rupert's Land from HBC, the Canadians were coming to Red River Colony and were manipulating and disrespecting the Metis people. They changed the way they were splitting their land. This picture is in Red River Colony
The hunging of Louis Riel
The rebels elected a provisional government in December 1869. They took over Upper Fort Garry as their center and Louis Riel for their leader.
Thomas Scott was a land surveyor that was being held at the HBC trading post. He was executed because he tried to attack rebels. His execution was authorized by Louis Riel.
After the rebelion ended, Louis Riel was tried for high treason. Because what he did he was hung on November 16th 1885.
