  • Doodle was born, but not like any other child. He was physically different from others; he couldn't run or walk or get too excited. . .he was delicate. That's not the kind of brother the narrator wanted.

  • Doodle's brother, the narrator, wanted to change his brother, he wanted him to learn how to run and walk just like all the other kids.
  • Resolution
  • One day, Doodle and his brother were out and it started raining. Doodle's brother was annoyed and fed up with Doodle not being able to be like others and left him crying in the rain.
  • Conflict
  • Once the brother could no longer hear Doodle's cries, he went back to him. . .
  • When the brother finds Doodle, he sees that Doodle is dead. The description of his death is the same as the description of the Scarlet Ibis's death.
