Black wall street was full of the richest black people and it was one of the richest communities and the KKK got mad that they were thriving so the KKK burned it down. They burned down more than 30 blocks.
They rebuilt Greenwood from the ashes. People tried to prevent them from building greenwood back up by making fire ordinances. The fire ordinance kept black people from building greenwood back up. Many people sold their land. B.C.Franklin fought against the ordinances and won. They also blamed black people for starting the massacre.
Despite all the challenges the black people faced, Greenwood was built back up! It was built up by determined black people and they built up what they had lost. This shows determination, strength, and resilience.
