The Colonies had began running themselves. The British hade made it illegal to sell certain items which made it hard for the Colonists to make money and buy certain items.
The British were taxing an absurd amount of money in order to keep there army well nourished and keep them having the best weapons. They were taxing so much because they thought it was fair because they fought the Indians and kept the colonists safe. The colonists didn't like this and begged and argued to get this removed.
Boston Tea Party
The stamp act was the first direct tax on the colonies. They had to prove all there belongings on a piece of parchment and had to stamp the paper which had a tax.
The Boston Massacre was a trap for the British Soldiers. The reason why it was a trap was due to the fact that it was a propaganda scheme to make people anti British. They made the soldiers shoot them because they were screaming, throwing things at them, and daring them to shoot.
The Boston Tea Party was a protest against the tea act which made tea extremely cheap therefore putting other colonial merchants out of business. The colonists dumped hundreds of pounds of tea into the harbor in an act of resentfulness.
The Intolerable Acts was a punishment on all of Boston because of the rebellious acts of the Boston Tea Party. This meant the soldiers could search there house of illegal items.
