Stevie and Susan Carol are 14-year old sportswriters. They got invited to write at the World Series and encounter a Drunk Driving incident between Norbert Doyle who is a pitcher for the Washington Nationals that has only played three games in his entire life. They try to find out what was the real story and they end up feeling sorry for him.
Norbert Doyle got an unexpected start and threw a no-hitter through eight innings. No-one knew anything about him except that his wife was killed in an accident but not how she was killed.
Stevie wanted to write a story about Norbert before the game happened so he looked into him and about him. He saw that his wife died in a car crash and he wanted to know more about it. So Stevie went up to the place where the car crash happened. He learned that there was only one car and that Jim Hatley was the only Officer there. Stevie found all of this from a court Case
Stevie found some more information from the Officer, but he didn't have enough. Susan Carol joined in and they started to write a false story saying that Nobert Doyle wouldn't comment. After they showed Norbert the story he agreed to tell them what happened.
I will talk to you guys about the accident
Stevie and Susan Carol already knew that Norbert was in a drunk driving accident and his wife Anilese was killed. Officers Jim Hatley and Joy Molloy were the only other people at the accident. Here is how it happened, Joe told Analise to drive and both Norbert and Analise were drunk. Analise swerved into a pole and killed herself. This was 12 years before the world series.
Norbert Doyle gets a letter from Stevie and Susan Carol saying that if he doesn't go and sell a movie about a lie then they will not write a story. Norbert responds with ABSOLUTELY AGREE. THANK YOU FOREVER.
