In Greece, King Pelias and Thetis the Sea Nymph had a grand wedding. Almost everyone was invited; even the gods were there. Only one person wasn't invited: Eris, the goddess of strife and discord. She was NOT happy... at all.
I'm the goddess of love and BEAUTY!
I DESERVE this apple!
Eris rolled a golden apple onto the ground. She cackled evilly and dissapeared.
I'm your wife! Choose me!
Well! Who gets the apple? I'm your daughter!
The apple rolled to 3 goddesses: Athena, Hera, and Aphrodite. The golden apple said: 'To The Fairest'
I cannot make this decision! Paris, a prince of Troy, shall decide.
King Pelias picked up the apple. The goddesses were suddenly interested... about who deserved the apple.
Zeus had to step in. But how could he possibly decide!
I literally rule beauty!
The situation was too awkward. He passed the decision on to Paris, the son of King Priam and Queen Hecuba.
