Parliament discussed ways of making up for cost of the French and Indian War so they created the tea act which put higher taxes on tea and made colonists pay more
We should tax the colonists to make up for the costs of the battle
After hearing about the taxes the colonists became enraged because of the unfair taxes. They figured they had to do something about it
When three tea ships docked in the Boston Harbor the Colonists protested demanded for them to be sent back to England . Disregarding their protest the tea ships stayed which began the retaliation of the colonists
No taxation without representation
The colonists decided to disguise themselves as native Americans so they could retaliate against parliament without being punished for their actions
The colonists disguised as Native Americans a.k.a The Sons Of Liberty and Samuel Adams boarded the ships in the harbor (Dartmouth, Ealounor, and Beaver) at midnight on December 16, 1773 and threw the chests of tea into the Boston Harbor
92,000 pounds of tea (340 chests) were dumped into the harbor which caused for it to smell for weeks and lead the British to close down the Boston Harbor until all 340 chests of British East India Company Tea was paid for
