The 13 English Colonies By: Priya Subramanian Mrs. Miele's Class, Period 6
Oooh! Pick me first!
Ok class! I want 3 facts about the 13 Colonies.
The climate there was very harsh for them and it was hard to farm. They whaled and fished. They had lots of lumber, so they built ships, and that's Boston, Massachusetts, was a port city where they traded with others.
Why can't I grow much on this land?
Hey! I'm from New Jersey. Wanna trade?
Great facts Lily! Who wants to go next?
I'll go next!
The climate in the Middle Colonies was more mild and the soil there was fertile, so they were able to grow more food than people in the New England Colonies could. They had factories that supplied people with paper, textiles, and iron and made money off of that.) They also had merchants and artisans in big cities like New York and Philadelphia.
I've earned lots of money from working as an artisan.
I can grow more vegeatables in this weather!
I make clothes.
I am a blacksmith and forge metal.
All of your facts are right Jimmy! Tasha, why don't you go next?
