Jericho, stop complaining! There are ways that we can improve the air quality, so if we put effort into that, we won't die.
The Earth is doomed! We're all going to die! We've polluted to the air far beyond the level that it can recover from.
There are already multiple people and organizations that are working to improve the air.
One person is Daan Roosegaarde, who created a small tower that sucks in smog and turns this smog into small gemstones that can be used in jewelry.
Really? Like who?
This tower, called the Smog Free Tower, sucks in smog through the top and releases the purified air through grates on the side.
This filtered smog is then condensed into a cube, and it used for new jewelry making.
It can clean more that 30,000 cubic meters of air per hour and takes the same amount of energy as a water boiler.
Jericho is very worried for the environment, and his friend Simon is a scientist that wants to improve the overall air quality and make others like Jericho feel more confident that their health, home, and Earth are healthy.
Another way people are working to improve air quality are smart cities.
What are those?
There are multiple solutions to improving air quality.
These smart cities have limited the amount of pollution they emit. These cities have shown great improvement.
What cities are smart cities?
These towers are 23 feet tall, and Roosegaarde designed them to purify air for public parks.
See? If we continue being aware of our environment and what we can do to save it, not all hope is lost!
That's awesome, Jericho. Now, let's walk home.
Wow! This has restored my faith in humanity!
There are several smart cities that have reinvented the way they operate to lessen air pollution.
These cities have limited their pollution by encouraging their populations to use public transport (buses, trains, and carpool) instead of individual vehicles, and redeveloped their infrastructure to limit waste.
Singapore, Barcelona, London, San Francisco, and Oslo.
Everyone needs to help improve not only the air quality, but soil and water quality as well. If we want us and our future generations to keep living on our beautiful Earth, we have to focus on keeping it healthy.
