That's our wall! How dare you touch paint over it!
You have no right to come into our neighborhood and paint!
Afternoon: Coming Home From School
That is such a weird painting.
Afternoon: At Mom's Cafe
You're going to get what you get, honey. I don't cook specific orders, pick something on the menu, and that's what you get.
I don't want any meat cooked with the vegtables.
The two main characters, Lou and the narrator were heading towards school --- already late to class. But, then they saw a lady spray painting a wall. They didn't want to create trouble because they needed to get to class so, they told her that she had no right to come into their neighberhood and paint on the wall.
The Next Day: Explaing the Art
We should take back our wall! Get rid of her disgusting art.
The two were walking home from school they still saw the old lady there painting but, now the wall was white with blue chalk dust on it. The two main characters stood there, watching was she was doing. Then, they saw twins come up from arounf the block and give her some food that was wrapped up in tinfoil.
Night: Labels For The Art
After, a while the main characters went towards to where they usually went, their mother's cafe to work. While they were taking a break the painter lady went in and started saying that she haven't ate all day and was ordering specific stuff. Then, the mother went off on her for ordering way too many specific things and not making up her mind on what to order.
As they all went home, Lou and the narrator kept on talking about how they should take down the art. But, their dad, mom, and grandma got tired of it.
She's just doing her work in the open, we have to respect that.
It's a shame that they have nothing else to do.
That night, they were watching the news was a story about the New York Subways being painted on all over, and the adults gave their opinions on sad that was to have the privilege to paint, but use in a wrong way.
I think the theme of the story would be respectfulness because throughout the whole story, the two main characters were being disrespectful towards the idea of street art. But, street art can be used in a beautiful way and around at the end of the story, they learn that they don't need to like street art they just need to respect it.
