Mother tells daughter to turn the t.v. off. She then explains to her daughter that the bodies of Disney Princesses are unrealistic and conform to a term called "the male gaze"
*The mother and the daughter go to their bookshelf*
The mother pulls out a book and paraphrases, Bell Hooks, Oppositional Gaze. Explains to her daughter that she is beautiful just the way she is.
The little girl asks, "Mommy, is the Male Gaze only in Disney movies?"
The camera zooms into the mom's face as she prepares to get into a deeper conversation.
