King Louis and Queen Antoinette ruled France under a Monarchy. They did whatever they pleased, such as overspending tax money on parties. This angered The Third Estate due to their crippling economy and wasted tax money. This caused them to revolt.
The Third Estate successfully raided the palace of Versailles with weapons they gained from raiding a prison prior to raiding Versailles. They held Louis and Antoinette captive in a smaller palace, where they were allowed to rule under a constitutional monarchy. They were eventually beheaded in 1793, ending their rule.
The killing of Louis and Antoinette caused France to try many forms of government, like republics and oligarchies. This led to many power struggles in France. This caused military general Napoleon Bonaparte to step up as ruler of France, thus creating a dictatorship.
Slaves were kidnapped from Africa and shoved into a boat with no space for three weeks until they reached San Domingue. It was there where they were forced to produce refined sugar under harsh living conditions. This is when the slaves started to plan a revolt that was going to be led by General Toussaint L' Overture.
The slaves hated the constant abuse and torture for not complying with the unfair conditions set by their masters. They decided to revolt to gain their freedom. They stole weapons from their masters and started to murder them in retaliation to their cruel treatment. This revolution was led by Toussaint and his men.
The slave revolts drove the Spanish out of the land of San Domingue. The slaves were now free and independent. Their freedom created the world's first Black Republic.
