"Then he dismembered them and made his meal" (140) The cyclops eats some of his men and blocks off the entrance of the cage with a giant boulder.
The soldiers make a spear to ram into Polyphemus's eyes. "Now I chopped out a six foot section of the pole and set it down before my men, who scraped it; and when they had it smooth, I hewed again to make a stake with a pointed end. I held this in the fires heart and turned it, toughened it, then hid it." (175/181)
Odysseus and his men ram the pike into Polyphemus's eye, blinding him"Straight forward they sprinted, lifted it, and rammed it deep in his crater eye." (236/237)
Odyssyus and his men hide under the sheep to escape. "He sent us into the open, then. I dropped and rolled clear of the rams belly." (319,/320)
