  • Setting-Hospital
  • Conflict-Church Fire
  • Setting-Park
  • The hospital affected Ponyboy a lot throughout the story. One of them was Johnny dying. Ponyboy's reaction was just very surprised and of course he was sad because one of his friends just died but just surprised because Johnny was one of the most quiet and non violenced person of the greasers. Also the hospital was also the place that Ponyboy went crazy because of his concussion. He got beat up by the Socs. And he was saying terrible things like he killed Bob and Johnny didn't.
  • The church was also a big thing in the story and affecting Ponyboy. The church is where Johnny and Ponyboy ran off to. They stayed there for a couple of days and then something bad happened. Someone dropped a cigarette and it lit the church on fire. Johnny got severely burned and that's how he died. but Ponyboy ran inside and tried to save him. He heard children screaming so he ran in and saved all for the children. He made everyone think that the greasers were actually good people.
  • This is also a huge part in the book. This is where Johnny and Ponyboy came and saw the Socs. They were all drunk and the leader (Bob) came at Ponyboy and stuck him into the fountain and tried to drown him. Johnny grabbed Bob pulled out his switchblade and stabbed Bob. When Ponyboy woke up he spit up some water and looked over at Johnny and Johnny said "I didn't mean it. Ponyboy was really surprised. This is the reason that they ran off to the church.
