King Lysarius of Archon is a respected and powerful leader and his bloodline has ruled for generations. The kingdom has more power than any other time in history, but he still wishes for greater wealth.
The harvest this year was the greatest in the kingdom's history, five times what they usually get. With this amazing feat in the kingdom's history, Lysarius saw an opportunity.
The king began trading the food, increasing the kingdoms wealth, but forgetting to stockpile food for the people. Only he kept food, enough to last the village to the next harvest all for himself.
The seers foretold a low harvest would lead to a famine and rebellion and begged the king to stop trading, but he ignored them in his blind greed. He knew he had food so if a famine hit he'd be fine, ignoring the needs of his people.
As foretold the harvest was small and without a stockpile of food for the people the kingdom was hit with a famine. The king stayed in the castle to avoid the wrath of the people.
His subjects broke into the castle, exiled him, and crowned a new ruler. He was left to reflect on his mistakes as another king ruled his empire. (The dog being king was a joke)
