- Hello class. Today we will be focusing on identifying the three types of rocks.
- Me too.
- Igneous rocks form when molten rock within Earth cools and hardens. Sedimentary rocks are made of sediment that has been compacted and cemented. Metamorphic rocks from existing rock due to heat and pressure.
- Igneous rocks can have crystals, glossy, glassy, holes, fine grained, course grained, and are light enough to float on water.
- So cool.
- So cool. These are my favorite rocks.
- Sedimentary rocks can have straight layers or lines, mix of large and small pieces, fossils, seashells, and grains of sand and dirt.
- Metamorphic rocks can have twisted bands of dark and light minerals, some have very tiny crystals, and they are usually very hard.

- Tomorrow we will be doing a lab with identifying the three types of rocks.
