  • Shakespeare- A Humanist
  • Display and Explination
  • I am a humanist because I write plays for the satisfaction of other humans, rather than a super natural being
  • Definition and Evaluation
  • Shakespeare was an English poet and play writer. He was a towering figure in Renaissance literature. Between 1590 and 1613, he wrote 37 plays that are still performed around the world. Shakespeare's love of words vastly enriched the English language.
  • I am a humanist because I focus not on god, but those around me. My plays reflect humanism as they illustrate the actions of humans, and what they do. My play "Romeo and Juliet" shows two lovers who fall victim to an old family feud. My tragedies show people crushed by powerful forces or their own humanly weakness. I try to never focus on god, and this is why I am a humanist.
  • The definition of humanism is the focus on your self and others, and on worldly subjects rather than religious issues. Nick Marcinowski, believe Shakespeare was a humanist because he wrote for human satisfaction, and tended to leave faith out of the picture.  Shakespeare was known for making great plays, weather it be a tragedy, a history, or a comedy. He made plays depicting the world and the people in it, and how people interact with one another. Shakespeare tended to leave religion and faith out of the picture.
