• Hey D'Pole!﻿
• Sup ProTOM﻿!
• Hey bro, for some reason we are always repulsed from each other﻿
• It's because we both have a positive charge which exerts a force on both of us. ﻿
• ProTom has to hang out somewhere else because the force applied on him by his brother causes him to accelerate away, the amount of force applied multiplied by the distance that ProTOM travels is called work
• ProTOM It's your twin brother﻿ ProTON!
• It's Simple! I am a separation of equal positive and negative charges. Because opposites attract I am able to stay together
• Hey D'Pole, I always am able to keep myself ﻿together when my brother picks on me because I am a single subatomic particle. But when something happens to you how do you keep yourself together?
• Wait ProTOM why are you moving away again?﻿
• It's still my bother! Even though we are further away from each other we are sill exerting a smaller force on each other. You just didn't notice until now because most of my potential energy from being close to him was already comverted into kenetic energy﻿
• ﻿ProTOM! we got pushed all the way into the capacitor zone!
• I know D'Pole, but it is perfectly normal for me to be in a capacitor, a capacitor is just two parallel conductive plates separated by a uniform gap in thickness.
• When I am placed in the capacitor zone I am repulsed from the positive plate and attracted to the negative plate this causes me to move towards areas of potential difference. See? I'm standing over here now. It's the same Idea as when I was repulsed from my brother, The electric field lines always go away from positive charges and they always go towards negatively charged areas meaning that positively charged particles move towards the negative plate. You have been affected too! See how your hair is parted the other way? You oriented yourself within the capacitor so your positivly charged end is facing the negative plate and vice versa.
