Storyboard Text

  • The Exposition
  • I need to find out what is out there!
  • Rising Action
  • It's a dog! I've read about these, but I've never seen one. I thought they were extinct. Obviously, people were wrong.
  • Rising Action
  • I found a dog! A real dog!
  • Hmmm...we better quarantine them and observe what is going on.
  • Would the boy agree? We owe it to science to find out more about the dog.
  • Brock is a teenage boy who lives under a dome. Outside of the dome is supposed to have poisonous air, so people don't go out there. Although he knows it to be dangerous, Brock decides to leave the safety of the only home he has ever known to visit the mountains he has read about. Brock is a very curious boy and he feels like the reward is worth the danger.
  • Rising Action
  • Oh no! They are going to kill Brog!
  • Ouch! He bit me! I feel weird now. What's wrong with me?
  • While Brock is on the way to the mountains, he finds a puppy. This is very interesting because dogs are supposed to have gone extinct at this time. Brock feeds the puppy and decides to bring him back to the dome.
  • Climax
  • Quick! Run away! Don't let him get you sick, too!
  • When Brock brings his puppy back to the dome, the scientists are very interested. They don't understand how there could be a dog outside of the dome because all of the books they read told them that dogs are extinct. They are very curious and confused.
  • Resolution
  • Why aren't you choking on the poison air? Maybe I can take my helmet off...
  • Brock overhears the scientists saying that they want to run experiments on Brog. They want to clone the puppy to find out about it. This would mean that they would kill Brog.
  • Brock decides to pretend that Brog has rabies. He needs an excuse to take Brog out of the dome to save his life. When Brock offers to take Brog back out of the dome, everyone agrees because they are worried that they will all get sick.
  • When Brock volunteers to take Brog back to the mountains, the scientists let him go and don't really care if he comes back. Brock realizes that the air is not poisonous after all and the story ends with Brock and Brog setting off to search for other people who might live outside the dome as well.
