Brutus is trying to make the roman people believe him. He wants them to believe that ceaser needed to die not for his own purposes.
Brutus is trying to get to the roman citizens by using their emotions. He wants them to know that he didn't kill ceaser just to kill him that he killed him so that Rome would not collapse
Brutus is telling the people that he would have ruined Rome. He says that would you rather ceaserar be alive and we all end up dead or him dead and all of us alive.
