  •  There are so many choices.
  • Joe has many choices but he will only choose one restaurant. Companies compete with each other to get customers by lowering prices.
  • Sully's burgers
  • Hmm this looks good.
  • Bob's Burgers
  • Joe chose Bob's Burgers. The prices are lower which means the business will make less profit per order but they will get more customers.
  • Bob's burgers force their customers to buy a certain product. This is like a command economy where the producers are told what to make by the government.
  • Can I get a single cheeseburger.

  • Joe is angry.
  • Okay I'll leave then.
  • This restaurant allows their customers to buy what they want but some things they are forced to buy. This is similar to mixed economies where some things are controlled by the government.
  • Can I get a double cheeseburger with a drink.
  • You can get a double cheeseburger and a drink but you have to buy a meal which is an additional $8.
