No need to worry officer, I'm just waiting for a friend..
Should I arrest Bob, he is my friend but i'm loyal to the law
Jimmy is the staunchest old chap in the world!
How much longer are you going to be here
I will wait about 30 more minutes, I know he will come.
Setting-10:00 PM; dark street in NYC; early 1900's; Tone: Mysterious; Characters: Bob, Patrolman Jimmy Wells, undercover policeman.
I know, you have been under arrest for ten minutes!
Jimmy must decide whether or not to arrest his friend, or let him go.
Here is a letter from patrolman Wells.
Bob talks to a policeman about waiting for an old friend to meet him after 20 years. He assures the policeman his friend will show up, and he says he'll wait 30 minutes beyond the meeting time.
Dear Bob, i recognized you as a wanted man so i arrested you but i couldn't do it myself so i had an undercover policeman do it for me. Sincerly, Jimmy Wells
A man, believed by Bob to be Jimmy greets him, and they take a walk and stop under a street light where they can both see each other's faces clearly, Bob relized that the man is not Jimmy, and the man tells him he's been under arrest for 10 minutes.
YOUR NOT JIMMY!!!
The undercover policeman gives Bob a note, telling him it's from patrolman Wells.
Bob reads the note from Jimmy which indicated that he reconized him as a 'wanted' man, so he sent someone else to arrest him because he couldn't do it himself.
