Jim was out on a date at a bakery when suddenly he felt awful. He decided to go see his doctor.
This triple chocolate brownie is delicious!
On the way to the doctor's office, Jim noticed that he was extremely tired, had blurred vision, and had to urinate really bad
Man, I sure am thirsty!
When he arrived, he told his doctor all of the symptoms he was experiencing. His doctor, hearing patients with these symptoms before, concluded that Jim's blood sugar levels were extremely high. He had eaten too much sugar at the bakery.
I think I'm dying doc!!
Doctor Kay took Jim into a room and explained to Jim what was happening inside of him.
The receptors in your pancreas detected high amounts of glucose in your blood. It sent a signal to its control center along the afferent pathway. Information was then sent along the efferent pathway to the effectors which allowed insulin to be released.
Dr. Kay informs Jim that his blood sugar levels should be returned to normal by now, so his symptoms should subdue.
You should be feeling better soon.
Dr. Kay walks Jim out of the building, feeling confident that Jim has learned some new information about his body works, and to not eat so many sweets.
Thanks doc! I know feel better and know how my blood sugar is regulated!
