Canterbury Tales: The Pardoners Tale
This storyboard does not have a description.
Once there were three men talking in a bar, when they heard funeral bells of an old friend that had just been killed by a man named Death that night. They decide to go and avenge their old friend and kill this man named Death.
The three men went out onto the road, and not too far down, they found a sad old man on the road. He has wished that death would take him but has not been lucky enough. Instead, he points the three men towards "Death" under a tree.
You will find Death under the tree just up the road!
Under the tree, the men find florins on the ground. After finding the florins, they no longer sought out Death. They decided that they couldn't move the abundance of gold during the day, so they decided to move it at night.
You act like you two are wrestling and I will take my dagger to his back.
The youngest was sent back to town to gather supplies to sit the rest of the day, and while away, they discuss getting rid of the youngest when he comes back so that they can split the gold in half instead of in thirds.
Then we both get more gold! Don't worry, I wont betray you.
When the youngest man came back, the two left to guard the gold jumped on him and killed him, and drank the wine he had brought back.
They did not know that the youngest had poisoned the wine in hopes of taking the gold for himself. The wine killed the other two men, and soon enough, Death had defeated all three of them because of their own greed.
