  • Well, are you going to support your own king and father or not?
  • “It is no City if it takes orders from one voice”
  • “My voice is the one voice giving orders in this City”
  • This is your punishment. I hope you learn from your stupid mistakes.
  • Creon wants a son who does not speak up and likes and hates the same people as himself.
  • Creon believes in a dictatorship and is blind with anger for Antigone. Haimon is being civilly disobedient by arguing with the king.
  • Creon locks up Antigone in a vault of stone with food, where she must pray to the gods of hell. This is considered pious. Ismene's life is also being spared.
