After his mother calls for him, he berates her and confronts her about his father's death and her marriage to Claudius, when he stabs Polonius behind the curtain, whom he believed to be Claudius.
After hearing of the death of her uncle, Polonius, Ophelia drowns herself after losing her mind.
Laertes returns home from college, and, immediately after hearing of the murder of his father and the death of his sister, he goes to confront Hamlet in the castle. A fight ensues in which both Claudius and Gertrude are killed. Laertes and Hamlet deal several blows to each other, which they finally succumb to in the end.
