Johnny's death setting
This setting affects Ponnyboy because Johnny was just like Ponyboy. Ponyboy and Johnny were alike because they both didn't like being greasers. This also affected Ponyboy because after Johnny dies Ponyboy feels alone because he and Johnny were best friends and now he is gone.
Darry affects Ponyboy when he hits him. if Darry hadn't hit ponyboy Johnny would have never died, and neither would Dally. when Johnny and Dally die Ponyboy said that he had lost two of his heroes that night. in conclusion, Darry really affects Ponyboy in the Outsiders.
The Rumble affects Ponyboy because that is the night that makes him feel proud that he is a greaser. before in the book, Ponyboy says that he does not like being a greaser because he was shy, but the night of the rumble he really embraces that he is a greaser.
