  • True I was nervous and still am. But why call me mad? Hearken! Observe, for I can tell you the whole story.
  • I have to do something with that damn eye, I must kill the old men.
  • Two week before the incident
  • Every midnight, for a week The Narrator crept in and watched The Old Man sleep.
  • starts in prison with the narrador trying to prove his sanity. how he carefully he proceeded with his plan.
  • DIE! DIE!
  • After pondering on a solution, the Narrator comes to a conclusion : Take the Old Man's life to get rid of the eye FOREVER
  • What is that noise?
  • Every night the Old Man's eye was closed so it was not possible to do his work. But on the eighth night he got a feeling, a feeling that success was near.
  • Yes! Yes, I killed him. Pull up the boards and you shall see! I killed him. But why does his heart not stop beating?! Why does it not stop!?
  • The sound of the beating of The Old Man's heart grew louder and my anger became greater. The time had come! I rushed into the room, pulled the bed over him, The deed was done, his Eye would trouble me no more.
  • Men arrived and introduced themselves as officers. They were here to investigate a shriek heard by a neighbor. I let them in, for what did I have to fear?.
