Schools, Bathrooms, and any other public buildings were segregated. Black people and white people had different restrooms and more.
Even seats on buses were segregated and if no seats were available to a white person a black person had to let the white person sit. They would be arrested immediately if they refused. Like Rosa Parks she refused to give up her seat. The bus driver had her arrested. What she did was the start of a revolution. She stood up for her right for the greater good.
As history goes on it changes thus leading to the end of the Jim Crow laws. When WWII began black people were permitted from fighting in the war.In 1948 President Harry Truman wanted to promote racial equality. He demanded that integration of blacks and whites in the military. Soon many other cases of racial equality began to be brought to peoples attention in hopes for a greater change and more importantly the end of the Jim Crow Laws.
