Storyboard Text

  • I'me here with the famous British politician, Winston Churchill!
  • He was a big part of Europe's History, including being a strong wartime leader. He even won the Nobel Peace Prize for literature in 1953!
  • He became the Prime Minister of England from 1940 to 1945.
  • I'm here in Auschwitz, Poland. This was the largest concentration camp in Europe during the time of the Holocaust.
  • Over 1.1 million people lost their lives here due to the Nazis. The people who died were considered undesirables, such as the Jews, handicapped, homosexuals, or other.
  • This camp is located about one hour west of Krakow, Poland.
  • This happened when some provincial English Catholics, under the supervision of Robert Catesby, tried a futile assassination attempt against King James I of England and the parliament. It was a failed attempt, but an important part of Europe's history.
  • This is where the famous 1605 Gunpowder Plot took place, in London, UK.
