Storyboard Text

  • Kevin, I'm sorry for yelling, but I am very upset. I miss my cat so much and I don't know how to get her back because I don't know where she went. I thought I saw her with you last night but it must've been a mistake. I just have no idea what to do without my beloved cat.
  • Randy called Kevin the morning after his party. Randy tried to call Kevin the night before, but Kevin did not respond. Luckily for Randy, Kevin picked up the phone and they decided to meet up with each other.
  • Do you think someone let her out? What if she's hurt somewhere out there? I don't know what I'm going to do...
  • No! Of course not! I'm sure she's okay!
  • Once the two men arrived at the coffee shop Randy immediately began yelling at Kevin. As soon as Randy began yelling Kevin denied everything.
  • Kevin, I will do anything to get my sweet cat back. I would pay any amount of money to get her back home.
  • Randy noticed that Kevin was refusing to admit to his wrong doing so he decided to use his interpersonal communication skills; Randy started with using assertive communication.
  • I'm sorry Randy, I did take your cat. We can go to my house to pick her up. I'm so sorry, I don't want your money.
  • Next, Randy will use his effective questioning skills. While using this skill he hopes that Kevin will realize that he has to tell the truth eventually.
  • Randy begins to negotiate with Kevin, but Kevin realizes that he needs to do the right thing (without taking Randy's money).
  • Kevin owned up to his wrong doing because he saw the effects that it had on Randy. Without Randy's interpersonal communication skills he would not have gotten his precious cat returned to him.
