Mr. Gatz comes from Minnesota and is very distraught by his son's death. He gives Nick one of Gastby's old books in which a young Gatsby had written a schedule for his own self-improvement. Gatz prefered to Gatsby as Jimmy and kept a picture of Gatsby's home.
Jordan comes back and meets with Nick. She is apathetic and informs him that she is engaged now. She does not seemed bothered by Gatsby's death. Nick is sad because of her apathetic reaction and because he is still very much in love with her.
Owl Eyes arrives, shocking Nick, and says "Amen to that" in response to a blessing that someone said for Gatsby. He speaks to Nick and explains that he could not get inside the house. He seems sympathetic and frustrated that so many people came to his parties but very few people shows up to his funeral.
