Storyboard Text

  • Exposition: "Can't see it," "remarked Rainsford, trying to peer through the dank tropical night that was palpable as it pressed its thick warm blackness in upon the yacht". (Connell 60). 
  • Inciting Incident:" He leaped upon the rail and balanced himself there... He lunged for it; a short, hoarse cry came from his lips as he realized he had reached to far and lost his balance. The cry was pinched off short as the blood-warm waters of the Caribbean sea closed over his head". (Connell 63)
  • Rising action: " He did not have to wait long. The cat was coming again to play with the mouse". (Connell 77)
  • Climax: " Twenty feet below him the sea rumbled and hissed. Rainsford hesitated. He heard the hounds. Then he leaped far out into the sea. . . .". (Connell 80)
  • Falling action: " Rainsford did not smile. I am a beast at bay, he said, in a low, hoarse voice. Get ready Zaroff". (Connell 80)
