  • Battle of Gonzales
  • Come and Take it!!
  • Reaction
  • Santa Anna sent his troops to invade the Alamo from all sides which caused them to kill all the Texans and the Texans killed about 600 Mexicans.
  • Similarities
  • The Mexicans came to take the tiny cannon that the Texans had but the Texans didn't give it up because it was a sign of liberty and pride. They made a flag that said come and take it to taunt the Mexican soldiers.
  • Differences
  • The Mexicans were so surprised that the Texans shot the cannon and they started firing back but it wasn't a very big battle because soon enough General Cos surrendered.
  • Conclusion
  • As you can see here at the Alamo it was a battle between Texas and Mexico and they fought over Santa Anna and his terrible lies.
  • Here where the Battle of Gonzales was fought it wasn't much of a massacre but at the Alamo every Texan died and six hundred Mexicans died. At the battle of Gonzales the Mexicans surrendered but no one surrendered at the Alamo.
  • In conclusion we can see that both battles are very different but still have simmilarities.
