After the attack on bastille, violence spread all throughout the French countryside.
This violence was caused because of rumors. It was heard that the Feudal lords had hired robber to murder the peasants. Although these rumors were false, this caused them to rise up against their local lords across France.
Arrested at last
Feared for his life, King Louis XVI and his family attempted to escape to Austria to be safer. His wife's brother was the Emperor of Austria, so they would be safer there.
Their attempt failed, but on the road, in their easily noticeable carriage, they were spotted by a passerby. Who had called for soldiers to have them all arrested.
They all returned to Paris and Louis and Marie-Antoinette were tried for treason. In which they were found guilty.
Later, Louis had no choice, but to accept the demands of the people and remain in their home as prisoners
