Storyboard Text

  • Back again for another day of school. What do yo got for me today. Math Class?
  • Hey Sara! Is our Math Class the first door?
  • Well your name is Emma so yea it's the first door
  • Hello class! I'm Mr.Smith and today I will be teaching you about the "Power of Ten"
  • Ok!
  • Whenever you see a 10 with a number right next to it at the top it's a power of ten! Depending of the exponent at the top, that's how many zeroes you write.
  • So if I say to you guys," What is 10 to the power of 3?" you guys would say," 1,000!" because since the number 10 has a 1 as its non-zero number, you would take that 1 and write 3 zeroes next to it.
  • That is a short cut so if you were to show your work for that equation you would write," 10x10x10" because of the exponent, that's how many times you would multiply it by itself.
  • And 10 to the power of 7 would be 100,000,00
  • So 10 to the power of 5 would be 100,000!
