  • The Industrial revolution resulted in urbanization. It caused a huge shift in population as many farmers shifted from agrarian societies to more urban areas like the cities, in search of employment.
  • I think it's time to move out of the farms and the country. I can go to the cities and work in the factories! It will be a better source of employment.
  • That's a great idea, even I will be able to get a better source of employment!
  • However, soon they realised of the extremely poor working conditions inside the factories...
  • Working in these poor conditions is impossible! Everyday I am putting my life at risk operating dangerous machines. There is so much smoke and the entire factory is covered in dark clouds. I am not even being paid very well.
  • There was also a huge impact on the living conditions of people. The streets were covered in garbage, and the factory waste was dumped in the rivers, which made it a breeding ground for infectious diseases like cholera... Also, there was a lot of pollution due to factories. All this negatively impacted the health conditions of the people
  • Shows how it impacted urbanization and affected in the long-term by increasing population in cities.
  • More goods and products were produced during the Industrial Revolution. The means of production moved from using hand tools and working in small workshops and homes to using big machinery and working in big factories. This had a big impact on the means of production and manufacturing and resulted in mass production of goods.

  •  The development of specific machinery and technologies had a long-term impact as they led to the growth of advances in many new industries: The development of the railway and trains developed the transportation
  • Shows how it impacted the extremely poor living conditions of citizens. The streets and rivers were dirty which aroused diseases which impacted the health of the people.

  • Even the first commercially successful steamboat developed by Robert Fulton in 1807 was important to the growth in the transportation industry. This was a big step towards the transportation of manufactured goods for trading them.
