Natural Selection and Evolution
Natural Selection and Evolution: What is it?
One poor boy came up with the theory of natural selection and evolution to explain how a lot of life exists. He tried to explain to other professional scientists about his idea but no one would listen to him as they believed it went against the word of GOD.
The boy's theory was that "It is not the strongest or the fittest that survive, it is the ones most adaptable to change." This was his theory of natural selection, where the animals who had mutated to have characteristics that helped them to survive, lived.
To prove his theory, the poor kid went on a round the world trip to find evidence for his theory.
Natural Selection and evolution: the proof
One of the places he went was the Galapagos Islands. On each of these islands were different animals, each different to live in the different environments.
One of these animals was the finch. These were on most of the islands but each had a different beak depending on what food was available. The poor boy thought that these had all evolved from one finch and adapted to suit their environment.
The boy went back to present his findings but people still didn't believe him. Nowadays, however, we know this boy as Darwin and his theory is correct. A lot of species are extinct due to natural selection but a lot of stronger ones were created because of evolution.
