  • In 1286, Alexander III died, apparently, when he fell off his horse.
  • His wife was thought to be pregnant, but it was false, he had 3 children, 2 of his sons died before him and his daughter died during childbirth ;-;
  • The Six Guardians had chosen Alexander's granddaughter to be a queen. She was only 3 years old, lived in Norway, and would marry a foreigner.
  • Edward became involved, he suggested that Margret  married his son, whom was also called Edward.
  • However, Margret died on her way to Scotland, cause is sea - sickness.
  • Edward was at a loss and had 2 candidates, John and Robert Balliol.
  • So, he picked John Balliol, because he was easier to take control of, and now, Edward starts to interfere.
